READ provides small-group instruction designed to help children in grades kindergarten through fourth who find reading and writing difficult.  We know that students develop literacy skills over time and that the benefit of a decreased class size with targeted instruction can provide a powerful "boost" to his/her confidence and skills. In the READ program, reading instruction is provided once or twice a week to assure reinforcement of new learning and to support accelerated progress. Each 45 -minute lesson  provides phonemic awareness, phonics/word study, comprehension, and writing about reading.
